Greenhouse Joys and Fails from This Month Past

June 24, 20251 min read

Joy #1: The Tomato Tantrum That Paid Off

We almost gave up on the heirloom starts—too leggy, too moody—but they rallied like drama queens in the sun. They’re now thriving and acting like they invented chlorophyll.

Joy #2: The Lettuce That Didn’t Bolt (Yet)

Cool nights and consistent watering kept the greens crisp and sweet. Salad success with minimal panic. We’ll take it.

Fail #1: The Great Label Mystery

Somehow, we now have five trays of “unknowns.” The labels? Faded, flipped, or vanished entirely. Are they peppers? Are they eggplant? Time (and blossoms) will tell.

Fail #2: Overwatering Row 3

Let’s just say someone got enthusiastic with the hose. RIP to the three drowned marigolds and one deeply offended rosemary.

Wrap-Up: Dirt, Drama, and Progress

It wasn’t perfect—but that’s greenhouse life. Plants grow, plans flop, and every failure teaches us something (usually humility). On to next month—hopefully with waterproof labels and a little less hose.

Hi, I’m Nanelyn, the heart behind #ClemsonTeaFarm! My journey into tea farming began with a deep appreciation for nature and a desire to create something meaningful—something that not only produces high-quality tea but also nurtures the land. With a background in Nursing, nurturing comes naturally, whether it’s for the body, the soul or the land, I’ve dedicated myself to traditional organic, sustainable, regenerative farming practices that replenishes both people and the environment.
